Menchie’s Raising Funds for Japan Disaster Relief Efforts

The frozen yogurt store will donate 10 percent of this Saturday's sales to the American Red Cross' Japan disaster relief efforts.

On a warm day like today, frozen yogurt is an ideal treat for the whole family. But when you stop by Menchie's today you'll also be helping the other side of the world with every swirl.

The frozen yogurt chain - which is known for serving customers an unlimited mix of yogurt and toppings through a unique self-serve station - is hosting a fundraiser that will support disaster relief efforts in Japan.

Today, Saturday, April 9, Menchie’s at Sweet Apple Village will donate 10 percent of sales to the American Red Cross to help support the organization’s ongoing aid to Japan. The local store joins a number of other Menchie's throughout the metro-area and the country in the endeavor.

In a written statement, Chief Executive Officer of Menchie’s Group, Inc. Amit Kleinberger said, “The recent events in Japan are heartbreaking and many in the communities we serve are connected to the country in one way or another. We feel a responsibility to be supportive in Japan’s time of need and are more than willing to participate in fundraising efforts.”

The fundraiser is just the latest effort by Menchie's in supporting charitable organizations and educational incentive programs, such as Autism Speaks, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Jerry's Kids and victims of the 2010 Haitian earthquake.
