'Moving Parts of the Arts' Puts Out Call for Artists

The deadline to apply is March 24.

Bicycles will once again take over Roswell's historic district this spring, but not all of them will look like you might think; in fact, some of them may be hardly recognizable as bicycles at all.

The Moving Parts of the Arts showcase comes again to Canton Street in April as part of the Roswell Cycling Festival. Currently, artists from around the metro area are being asked to tap into their creative sides and come up with dynamic, thought provoking and unique pieces of art from the 20 bicycles donated by Roswell Bicycles for the event.

“We’re looking forward to the second year of showcasing these creative pieces of art throughout the city of Roswell!” said Kim Hutchens, chair of Moving Parts Of The Arts. “People enjoyed experiencing the art as they walked through town and some even stopped to get their picture taken with their favorite pieces!”

The month-long exhibit - hosted by the Roswell Cultural Arts Board - will consist of artfully reconstructed bicycles or bicycle parts, .

Artists do not need to be Roswell residents to participate. Individual, combined artists and organizations are welcome and there are no restrictions based on art discipline – the goal is to get people’s creative wheels turning! Artists are encouraged to use all, some or selected pieces of the bicycles to create their finished product.
