New Backpacks Needed for Homeless Children

Roswell-based Children's Restoration Network needs the public to help over 4,000 homeless children start their school year on the right foot.

Roswell-based Children's Restoration Network (CRN) has officially kicked off its campaign to provide new backpacks and school supplies for thousands of metro Atlanta school children.

The organization is asking for the public to donate new backpacks and school supplies for more than 4,000 children in area shelters and group homes who will start the 2013-14 school year.

Along with the donation drive, the organization is planning its Back 2 School Readiness fair where children will receive free health screenings, dental and vision exams and haircuts.

The bookbag drive ends on July 26. Along with asking the public to hold the drive, the CRN also needs volunteers to help with sorting and filling the book bags on Friday Aug. 2 and Saturday Aug. 3.

Supplies and bookbags collected can be dropped of CRN's Roswell office at 11285 Elkins Rd, C-4, Roswell, GA 30076.
