New Social, Civic Networking Group Roswell NEXT to Hold Fundraiser Thursday Night

The fundraiser will take place from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Mayor Jere Wood's home.

The city's newest networking group officially launches with a special fundraiser event tonight, Thursday, Jan. 31.

Roswell NEXT - a group of local young professionals who want to help influence the city's future growth - will kick off their initiative at Roswell Mayor Jere Wood's Stroup Road home.

Posted on their Facebook page, the group states its mission as:Β

"Encouraging local participation and open dialogue amongst young professionals, entrepreneurs and visionaries to influence the Social, Civic and Economic growth of Roswell by delivering fresh ideas and initiatives that enhance the value of our city."

Attendees of the Thursday night event will hear a little more of the group's goals, while they sample food and drinks from Salt Factory, Table & Main, Vin 25 and Ale Yeah! Admission is free and includes food, but drinks are $5. The bar will be cash only.

The event, which takes place from 7 p.m.-10 p.m., is the first of once-a-month gatherings that will promote dialogue mostly among the under 40 set regarding local issues. Memberships will cost $50 annually and will be required for access to certain events, while other events - such as the fundraiser - will be open to the public.
