Parts of S.R. 400 To Close For Bike Ride

For the sixth year in a row, part of GA 400 southbound will be closed on Sunday, June 29, to allow more than 1,500 cyclists to ride their bikes on GA 400 for 3.1 miles as part of the GA 400 Hospitality Highway Century Ride. 

• GA 400 from Exit 7 (Holcomb Bridge Road southbound) to Exit 6 (Northridge) will be closed from 6:55 a.m. to approximately 7:30 a.m.
• Holcomb Bridge Road will be closed from 6:40 a.m. to approximately 7:20 a.m. for the bike riders to go from Market Boulevard to the 400 ramp. 

Roadways in Alpharetta will also be impacted between the hours of approximately 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Those thoroughfares are:

• Haynes Bridge Road north to North Point Parkway
• North Point Parkway north to Windward Parkway
• Windward Parkway east to Alderman Drive
• Alderman Drive to Windward Concourse
• Windward Concourse to McGinnis Ferry Road

The Hospitality Highway Bicycle Ride draws more than 1,500 cyclists of varying skill levels to the area. Riders can select from 9, 27, 45, 62, and 101-mile routes.

The longer rides traverse country roads in Fulton, Cherokee and Forsyth counties and pass beautiful horse farms and landscape. Some riders will take over seven hours to complete the 101 mile option. 

Please note that the time at which the roads reopen is approximate, as it is dependent upon how quickly the cyclists finish that part of the route. 

The GA 400 Hospitality Highway Century Ride supports local cycling charities and Junior Flyers, a youth cycling team that fights childhood obesity.
