Roswell Resident Wins $250,000 from Georgia Lotto

Joseph Crandall, a recent college graduate, claimed his prize last week.

One lucky college graduate from Roswell is finding himself a quarter-million dollars richer. Joseph Crandall won a $250,000 prize playing Jeep Outdoor Adventure in the Georgia Lottery.

The 23-year-old, who recently graduated from Georgia State University, purchased his lucky ticket last Thursday at Sydney Food Mart in Atlanta, and immediately went to claim his prize at Georgia Lottery headquarters downtown later that same day.

Ironically, Crandall received the lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship while enrolled at the university. Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery has returned more than $12.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
