Roswell is among the cities currently taking part in “See.Walk.Cities.”
It's a new wellness initiative from the Georgia Municipal Association, and the winning city will receive an outdoor fitness station and be able to lay claim to the title, “The Most Active City in Georgia.”
More from the City of Roswell release:
See.Walk.Cities is designed to be a fun, social challenge to determine the most active city in Georgia while highlighting all the great events in various communities. Through an Internet-accessible program, community members can interact with one another online; form their own running, walking and fitness teams; set goals; track successes; and even earn points toward rewards and prizes.
GMA believes cities provide the infrastructure necessary for active living, while also providing the history and points of interest to make being active fun and interesting.
Roswell residents are encouraged to join the city team by going to http://www.cmecompete.com/communities/see-walk-cities/.
Search for City of Roswell and join the team! Individuals earn points for participating in activities and challenging themselves and each other. The points can be redeemed for rewards, such as gift certificates and discounts from participating merchants.
Also, any activities team members participate in, either in Roswell or elsewhere, earns points for the city. At the end of the year, the city with the highest number of points will win a Single-Air-Walker and free consultation regarding the installation of other outdoor fitness stations courtesy of Outdoor Fitness Concepts.
Roswell is competing against other cities such as Perry, Dallas, Douglasville, College Park, Valdosta and Americus for the title and needs the help of residents!
