Roswell Weather Update: City Closed Thursday

Police continue to remind residents to avoid driving on city streets.

Due to the winter weather conditions, Roswell City Hall and the Recreation and Parks facilities will be closed on Thursday and will reopen for normal business hours on Friday, Feb. 14, contingent upon weather conditions.

City officials say they will continue to assess the situation and make adjustments if necessary.

On Wednesday night, a tree came down in the roadway near 380 E. Crossville Road, and crews were dispatched to remove it.

From the Roswell Police Department Facebook page: "Ice is continuing to accumulate on trees and power lines and will continue to accumulate throughout the night. Thank you for staying off the roadways allowing first responders and crews to freely move about the City to respond to emergencies and weather related situations!"

Earlier in the day, Dogwood Road from Holcomb Bridge Road to Grimes Bridge Road had been closed due to icy conditions.
