Roswell Wine Festival Debuts Oct. 6

The event includes strolling along Canton Street and participation from several restaurants, including Table & Main.

Many thanks to Peggy Robinson of the Roswell Wine Festival for sending this along about their very first event Oct. 6. We'll be writing more as the date gets closer, but here's some introductory information:

Roswell will be hosting its first annual wine festival on Sunday, October 6 from 2 to 5 pm. As part of the ticketed event, festival goers will be provided a commemorative glass and will be able to stroll up and down Canton Street tasting wines from the menus of their favorite restaurants.

Each participating restaurant will feature 3 to 5 of their favorite wines for tastings. Local mainstays Table & Main as well as Little Alley Steak, Salt Factory and Opulent are gold sponsors of the event.

"Roswell has become synonymous with great restaurants. Now it's time for the wine menu to be showcased front and center. This festival will give ticketholders the opportunity to experience Roswell's restaurants in a whole new way by exploring their featured wines," states Peggy Robinson, co-founder of the Roswell Wine Festival.

"We've been really surprised by how the local community and restaurants have embraced the event. Our Facebook page has only been up three weeks and we already have over 500 likes." states Dwight Cunningham, co-founder of the Roswell Wine Festival.

A portion of the proceeds of the event will go to benefit Bert's Big Adventure, a local nonprofit organization that provides an all-expenses-paid journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.

In addition to the restaurants, there will be several local business participating in the festival. Tickets cost $30 before September 29th and $40 thereafter and they can be purchased through Ticket Alternative. Tickets will be sold to only those 21 and older. Festival attendees are asked to plan ahead and to not drink and drive.
