Roswell Women's Club Awards Scholarships

Money from the 2011 Roswell Women's Club Showcase Home was given out to local students recently.

The funds raised by the Roswell Woman’s Club’s 15th annual Showcase Home were awarded to local education and charity during a ceremony on May 10 at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Roswell.

Over $80,000 was awarded to the North Fulton community with fifty percent going to scholarships and teacher grants and fifty percent to non-profit charities.

Twenty deserving seniors from ten North Fulton high schools received scholarships. And this year the educational grants went to eight schools for use enhancing classroom activities through writing, music, language and ecology.

The other half of the funds raised support the great work of fourteen North Fulton non-profit charities. Representatives of each organization received their checks during the gift disbursement. Recipients of gifts made application throughout the year and they were carefully reviewed by the Roswell Woman’s Club.

Roswell Woman’s Club thanked its 2011 Showcase Home builder, Mike Walsh, the architect, Arie Kohn, the designers, all the sponsors, the volunteers and members.
