Senior Enriched Classes Begin in January

Two Roswell churches will the venues for the eight-week sessions.

Thanks to Judith Seidner for the following information about Senior Enriched Classes that begin shortly after the first of the year at Roswell United Methodist Church and at Roswell Presbyterian Church:

Seniors Enriched Living is offering an eight week schedule of interesting classes starting Tuesday, January 7 and Thursday, January 9! This winter Tuesday classes will be held at the Roswell United Methodist Church, 95 Pratt Street, Roswell, while Thursday classes will be held at the Roswell Presbyterian Church, 755 Mimosa Blvd., also in Roswell.

Each semester several hundred people interested in lifelong learning get together once or twice a week to enjoy each other’s company and to learn about art, music, history, current events and many other topics.

Others enjoy bridge, chess, mah jongg and painting.  For the past 20 years, the quality of instruction and group participation has made SEL an outstanding intellectual and social experience. Members call it “the best educational value around!”

SEL’s $50 quarterly membership fee entitles all those 50 and over to enroll in all classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This winter Tuesday classes include Religions in America, Great Decisions, Weekly Book Review, Economics 101, and Rebirth of Modern America. Classes on Thursday include Current Events, Art History, The American West, Great Empires Rise & Fall, Eudora Welty, Fantasy & Reality at the Movies, The Buddhist Path, Classical Music, The Living Constitution and Healthcare. 

Instructors volunteer their time and generally have advanced degrees.

Lunch for $7 and catered by the Roswell Presbyterian Church is available on Thursdays.

A non-profit interfaith community organization, SEL classes are the ideal place for persons interested in discussing ideas, gaining knowledge and meeting new friends. Throughout the year, classes are held in various area churches.
