-Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is roughly a seven-hour drive from Roswell.

What’s a vacation without golf? While some may not care, others won't go somewhere they can't hit the links. In Myrtle Beach, there are more than 100 courses. So, if you are a golfer, you would be hard pressed not to find one you'll love.

Another major draw for visitors to Myrtle Beach is Broadway at the Beach, which is the largest festival entertainment complex in South Carolina. There are movie theaters, a nightclub district, restaurants and more than 100 shops that sell everything from art and home accessories to collector’s souvenirs.

In addition to several hotels in the area, one in particular is offering a special package for Easter. The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes has a two night package for a family of four that includes a welcome reception, Easter Sunday brunch, weekend Easter activities and even an Easter Basket.

-North Georgia Mountains

Although spring is in the air, you might be still enjoying the chilly weather and not quite ready to turn in your sweaters for flip-flops. The north Georgia Mountains could give you the chance to hold on to the cooler air for a little while longer.

Of the attractions that make this area popular is the Appalachian Trail. Hiking along the Appalachian Trail is a treat for nature and non-nature enthusiasts alike.

In less than hour, you can drive to Dawsonville. It is about 10 miles south of Amicalola State Park, which contains Amicalola Falls, the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River.

Other activities in the area include horseback riding, fishing, hunting and even mining for gold.

Lodging options in the north Georgia Mountains are extensive, but the best way to enjoy your stay in the area is to rent a cabin. Several sizes are available to meet your family’s needs.

There are also cabins available where pets are allowed.

-Savannah

From the metro Atlanta area, Savannah is about a four-hour drive.

Among the family activities you can take advantage of are miniature golf, chartered fishing and other water sports, such as parasailing.

A trip to Savannah can also give you the chance the visit nearby, historic Tybee Island.

Lazaretto Creek Marina and Capt. Mike's Dolphin Tours offer dolphin tours, sunset cruises, and inshore and deep-sea fishing.

There are dozens of hotels and resorts to choose from in the Savannah area. Surfing the Internet for the best deal can help you narrow down your choices.

Even if you haven't begun to make getaway plans, in most cases, you can still book for April, which is when most local schools let out for Spring Break.
