What Do You Want to See for the Local National Recreation Area?

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is still seeking input on its commercial services strategy.

The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is still asking for public input on where to make changes to its commercial service operations within the park.

Potential changes include allowing food vendors, guides and rentals within the park.

A Commercial Services Strategy study is currently being prepared to identify opportunities where enhancements can be made to the park’s mission and the visitor experience through public/private partnerships.

The purpose of the study is to:

  • Determine the desired future conditions of the park for visitor use and private business
  • Analyze potential business opportunities that have been recommended by visitors, volunteers, current business operators and park staff
  • Create a tool for quickly and easily evaluating existing and potential businesses
  • Prioritize business opportunities and outline an action plan for potential implementation

A public open house is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m. to gather input on the proposed strategy. The meeting takes place at the park’s headquarters, 1978 Island Ford Parkway, Sandy Springs, GA, 30350.
