This weekend, last-minute carvers and decorators can breath a sign of relief because pumpkins are 50 percent off at . Below are some tips from the store on how to pick the perfect pumpkin.
- First, decide if the pumpkin is going to be viewed from all sides.
- If so, look for a pumpkin with as few blemishes as possible.
- Look for a pumpkin that doesn’t have a flatter, yellow side from laying on the dirt.
- Look for a bright orange pumpkin without bruises and soft spots.
- The pumpkin stem should be attached and pretty sturdy - this will let you know it’s fresh.
- You should carry a pumpkin from the bottom rather than the stem.
- Even a fresh pumpkin’s stem can break off when carried by the stem.
