ACT1 Theater Show Goes on Despite Storm Sirens

"The New Kid on the Block continues through March 25 at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church.

ACT1 Theater, which is directed by Roswell resident Lisa Matchen, had a more exciting opening night than planned for its latest presentation, "The New Kid on the Block," on Friday night, March 2. With tornado sirens blowing, the theater troupe at followed the mantra, "The show must go on."

ACT1 Theater presents "The New Kid on the Block," a fast paced Pat Cook comedy full of secrets, intrigue, and a good bit of mistaken identity, through March 25. The second night show on March 3 ought to be a good one with no thunderstorms forecast. The actors especially should be more relaxed as they've already battled opening night jitters and storm fears at the same time.

The play: Carl, Lloyd and Parker are three feisty senior gentlemen living the good life in a large house in a peaceful close knit neighborhood.  All they want to do is rent out the fourth bedroom to help with the rent.  But when Will shows up to answer their ad, Carl immediately starts feuding with the would-be tenant.  Then Lloyd pulls on his old army fatigues and with Parker on a walkie-talkie, both suddenly start running night maneuvers. A beautiful young lady appears, rumors fly, and of course  there is the woman-in-black.
