GET Receives Major Grant

A $260,000 grant from The Thoresen Foundation will help North Fulton's only professional theatre to continue it's educational and quality programs.

The Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) announced this week that it received a $260,000 grant from The Thoresen Foundation.

GET Artistic Director Robert J. Farley was honored by the generous grant. 

“All of us at GET are enormously grateful to have been chosen by The Thoresen Foundation for this grant award, which enables us to plan for a bright and successful future," he said. "GET will continue to provide first rate professional theatre, arts education and community outreach throughout Georgia.”

“This grant gives new life to Georgia Ensemble Theatre," added GET Board President Carla Crowell. "It provides the stability we need to enter our third decade of fulfilling the theatre’s mission of captivating the current generation of theatre-goers while at the same time, nurturing future generations.”

Managing Director Anita Allen-Farley also thanked The Thoresen Foundation for it's support.

"We now have the opportunity do more good, producing great theatre and theatre education, for the thousands of patrons, parents, children and teachers that we have served for almost twenty years,”  she said.

GET, which performs out of the , is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre’s 19th season continues with: "Glimpses of the Moon" (November 3-20, 2011); "Becky’s New Car" (Jan 5-22, 2012); "The Foreigner" (Feb. 23-Mar. 11, 2012); and "Ring of Fire" (April 12-29, 2012).
