Kids Corner: Hello, Michaels!

Hallelujah, y'all! We finally have a Michaels and you don't have to brave mall traffic or cross county lines to get the art and craft supplies you (and your kids) need.

The new Michaels is located at 612A W. Crossville Rd. just a few doors down from Kohl's. They have the same stuff as all the other Michaels-- supplies for jewelry making, baking, painting, drawing, polymer clay, woodburning, framing, scrapbooking, DIY weddings, kids' crafts, and much more. And although the store calendar appears empty, you can see some upcoming classes and free workshops on the Store Event page. There are even some activities starting at age 3.

If you're looking for some fun craft ideas to keep little ones occupied over the Thanksgiving holidays, Michaels has a online page just for kids and teachers with hundreds of project ideas using materials available for purchase at the store. You can search for projects by age, materials, or holiday, which is a great way to fill in that empty time between turkey lunch and turkey dinner.

Load up on some new craft supplies, then head across the parking lot to , where the white chocolate macademia nut cookies don't disappoint and kids eat free on Wednesdays after 4 p.m. with a paid adult meal.
