Local Dance Company Donates Tickets to Students

The tickets to a show featuring some Atlanta Dance Central students were donated with the hope that families begin a tradition of including the arts in their holiday plans.

SIDEWAYS Contemporary Dance Company believes the arts are an important part of the season and has donated over 200  tickets to their upcoming show to local dance students.

SIDEWAYS will hold their annual holiday show, “Once Upon a Holiday, A Festive Twist on the Story of Alice in Wonderland” Dec. 14 and 15 at 8 p.m.,  and Dec. 15 and 16 at 3 p.m. The show will be performed at 7 Stages Theater in Little Five Points in Atlanta and will feature over 25 students from Atlanta Dance Central and other Roswell dance studios!

SIDEWAYS performance is a funny, heartwarming jumble of Alice and Wonderland and the Nutcracker, and includes a large variety of holiday music from Tchaikovsky to Elvis. This family friendly show features contemporary, ballet, jazz and ballroom dance.

“We know that many families are busy during the holidays, but making time to see a performance is the perfect way to share new holiday memories and traditions with each other,” said SIDEWAYS Artistic Director Charlotte Foster. Through the ticket donation, SIDEWAYS hopes to share the arts with children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to see dance. Foster also hopes that some of the student’s families will begin holiday traditions that include the arts.

To see SIDEWAYS Contemporary Dance Company perform "Once Upon a Holiday, A Festive Twist on the Story of Alice in Wonderland" visit the 7 Stages Theater in Little Five Points on Dec. 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 15 and 16 at 3 p.m.
