Moving Parts of the Arts Opens People's Choice Vote

Vote for your "Moving Parts of the Arts" favorite now!

The Roswell Cultural Arts Board wants to know, which "Moving Parts of the Arts" bicycle art is your favorite?

The People's Choice vote is now open to the public until April 27 at 1 p.m. Eight dynamic artists created inspiring and unique pieces comprised of donated bicycles and bicycle parts from in celebration of the upcoming . Artists transformed the bikes into creative ‘masterpieces’ and have displayed them at the corner of Woodstock Road and Canton Street. 

The general public now has a chance to vote on their favorite ‘bike-art’ via the city of Roswell’s Historic & Cultural Affairs Facebook page or on-site via their smartphone by scanning a QR code with a direct link to the voting system.

“We’re very pleased with the quality of the pieces this year.” said Kim Hutchens, chair of Moving Parts of the Arts. “People enjoy the art as they walk through town and some even stop to get their picture taken with their favorite pieces!”

Residents can also go online to to see pictures of each bike and read artist statements and more detailed information about their creative process.

The voting deadline is April 27 at 1 p.m. and the winning artist will be announced by Mayor Jere Wood on April 29 at the corner of Woodstock Road and Canton Street prior to the Men’s Pro Race at 6 p.m. An award will be given to the People’s Choice Winner at this time.

The Roswell Cultural Arts Board’s principal purpose and responsibility is to study and make recommendations to the Mayor and Council concerning planning, financial support, services for, and promoting the development of arts organizations, artists, cultural activity, and cultural tourism in the city.
