Theatre of the Stars announces new season of shows coming to the Fox.

Mermaids, dreamgirls and kitty cats, oh my!

Theater of the Stars announced its 2013-14 season this week, and the roster of classics that will take the stage at the Fox Theatre includes "The Little Mermaid," "The Buddy Holly Story," "Dreamgirls," "Cats," and "Stomp."

“I am pleased to announce another spectacular season of musical theatre that combines classic, well-loved Broadway musicals with the Southeastern premiere of 'Disney’s The Little Mermaid,' ” said Christopher B. Manos, producer of Theater of the Stars, in a press release. “This season offers shows that families and patrons of all ages will enjoy.”

BUDDY: The Buddy Holly Story
July 9-14, 2013
"Buddy" is a musical celebration of Buddy Holly. This production includes all of Holly’s hits including, “That’ll be the Day”, “Peggy Sue”, “Rave On” and “Oh Boy.”

CATS
July 23-28, 2013
"Cats," one of America’s most loved family musicals, will feature lots of local Atlanta kids as “kittens”.

DREAMGIRLS Starring Jennifer Holliday
Aug. 2-11, 2013
Winner of six Tony awards and two Oscars, "Dreamgirls" follows an all-girl singing trio from Chicago in their quest for success. 

ANYTHING GOES
Aug. 20-25, 2013
Peppering this Cole Porter comedy are some of the theater’s most memorable standards, including “I Get a Kick out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and “Anything Goes.”

STOMP
Sept. 23-29, 2013
"Stomp" is a wordless show with an eight-member cast that creates beautiful music and sly humor with found objects. This show is not part of the Season Package and will go on sale at a later date.

Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID
Jan. 10-20, 2014
Based on one of Hans Christian Anderson’s most beloved stories, with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, this is the tale of the beautiful young mermaid Ariel who longs to live above the ocean.

To get to the Fox Theatre, located at 660 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta 30308:

I-75 South: Exit at North Avenue, turn left at end of ramp. Turn left at 3rd traffic light (Peachtree Street). The Fox Theatre is one block on the left.

GA 400 South: 400 South to 85 South. Exit at North Avenue, turn left at end of ramp. Turn left at 3rd traffic light (Peachtree Street). The Fox Theatre is one block on the left.

Many parking lots in the vicinity offer parking for Fox patrons.
