Patch Picks: 5 Bibliophiles Share Their Favorite Books

What did you read on National Read Across America Day?

If you saw Thing 1 and Thing 2 walking through Roswell last Wednesday, March 2, don't worry. You're not crazy. I saw them, too. And I gave them a big thumb's up, because they were celebrating the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss, not to mention National Read Across America Day. This country-wide reading initiative by the National Education Association encourages readers both tiny and tall to pledge to read more books.

In case you're looking for something new, we asked a few experts about their favorite books. Not only did we check with our hometown Roswell librarians, but we also took to the internet and got the scoop from authors, book reviewers, and librarians around the country. Here's what they love.

  • Margaret Eves, Young Adult Librarian at the Roswell Library
