Roswell City Dance Came Out on Top at Starpower Dance Competition

The city of Roswell's competitive dance company, Roswell City Dance came away as the highest winning studio.

For the first competition of the season, Roswell City Dance (RCD), competed in the regional competition March 16-18 at the Starpower Dance Competition held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

RCD - - won over 50 awards for dance and choreography, which was the highest number of awards won by any studio at Starpower in Atlanta. RCD competed in the "Power" division, the highest level of competition at Starpower. As well as winning top awards in almost every age bracket and category, one group piece, "The Only Fault," won the highest overall score for the entire competition.

Roswell City Dance will be competing in two more regional competition this spring as well as “The Hall of Fame Dance Challenge” Nationals in Virginia Beach, Va. this summer.

Under the direction of Shannon Childers, Roswell City Dance Competitive Company consists of a select group of dancers chosen to represent the city of Roswell at regional and national competitions and conventions. Dancers study and perform many different styles of dance including: Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Tap, and Musical Theater.
