Rush Returns to Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Thursday

The Canadian band's concert in Alpharetta is nearly sold out, so put on your thermals and grab your credit card to buy tickets.

Rush has been rocking since the mid-1970s, and the trio brings their "Clockwork Angels" tour to Alpharetta at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m.

But tickets are nearly sold out, so visit the amphitheater's website to get yours before it's too late.

"Clockwork Angels" is the band's first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner records.

Lyrically, "Clockwork Angels" chronicles a young man’s quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. The novelization of "Clockwork Angels" is being written by science fiction writer Kevin J. Anderson in collaboration with Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

The temperature at show time in Alpharetta will be in the low 50s, and drop down to the mid-40s by the end of the concert, so dress warmly. Thermals, hats, scarves and even gloves will make this concert more enjoyable. Only those concertgoers with lawn seats can bring a blanket, but if you dress in layers or with some of those high-tech fabrics you should be comfortable. Forget a hat? I'm sure Rush will have plenty of caps to sell to you, complete with their logo.
