All Worlds Pediatric Combines Holistic, Traditional Medicine

Dr. Arlene Dijamco recently started her new practice in Roswell, the place she also now calls home.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" has long been an allegorical mantra told to children everywhere about the power of natural living. All Worlds Pediatrics takes it to heart, combining holistic remedies and traditional medicine into one practice.

The unique practice, headed up by Dr. Arlene Dijamco, recently opened its doors in Old Roswell Lakes off Old Roswell Road. The pediatric office believes they offer patients a full toolbox of approaches through a wellness approach that utilizes conventional medical care and holistic ideas.

"Rather than a 'Band-Aid' method of dealing with symptoms, we assess and treat the whole person - mind, body and spirit. True to our name, we give patients the best of all worlds so they can feel better now and well into the future," said Dijamco, who was educated at Harvard University, Emory University, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network and a prestigious two-year integrative medicine fellowship with Dr. Andrew Weil.

Dijamco said medical assessments of her patients begin with listening.

"The first visit, especially, isn't a matter of spending 10 minutes...getting a prescription and heading home. We make an effort to get to the root of what's happening, as we try to assess the best way to go forward that makes sense for your child," she said.

After hearing a patient's history, giving them an exam and osteopathic assessments, staff at the practice go through all the options with patients and their parents.

"We strive to be as all natural and as minimally intrusive as possible. That means, for example, giving a cranial osteopathic treatment for an ear infection, rather than just prescribing a round of antibiotics," said Dijamco.

But, having been schooled at prestigious universities and hospitals, Dijamco also knows when conventional medicine, including x-rays, shots and prescriptions, are the best way to go.

She's glad to be back in the North Fulton area with her family, having grown up in nearby Sandy Springs.

"When my husband got a great job opportunity in Atlanta, we jumped at the chance to bring our family back home, allowing our now three children to live near their grandparents and other relatives," said Dijamco.

They family chose Roswell both to live and work for its access to the Chattahoochee River, local parks, the historic district, restaurants and family-friendly feel.
