Celebrate National Margarita Day in Roswell

Yes, it's a real thing.

You name it and there is probably a day to celebrate it. Today, Feb. 22, just happens to be National Margarita Day.

The drink's origins are debated; some say it was concocted by a barman in Mexico City for Marguerite Hemery during 1934, while others claim it comes from Texas. Where ever it's from, no one can dispute its popularity. The Georgia Grille at 2290 Peachtree Road NW in Atlanta is even throwing a party to celebrate the sweet and sour drink.

But, you don't have to go downtown to celebrate, here are a few places you can find some of the most talked about margaritas in Roswell:

  • Ceviche Taqueria & Margarita Bar - Situated in the heart of Canton Street, the taqueria is serving a $4.50 Ceviche House Margarita today, according to their Facebook page.
  • Twisted Taco - Serving nearly 20 different kinds of margaritas, Twisted Taco entices National Margarita Day revelers with fun names like Baja and The Cowboy. The only question is: which one to choose?
  • El Zarape - The no frills restaurant may not have many specialty margaritas, but they're known for their authenticity. 
  • Tarahumata Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar - They serve house, organic and Jose margaritas.
