To celebrate a major milestone for animal welfare and continuing its mission to sell the best products, will host a food truck "rodeo" on Saturday, March 17.
The event will celebrate Whole Foods vendor, Thompson Farms, of Dixie, Ga., for its passing a final independent audit to certify its farm and facilities at the highest level of the 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating Standards. It becomes the first producer in the entire company to achieve the 5-Plus rating.
Thompson Farms, a vendor at Whole Foods Market for three years, was formerly a Step 4 hog farm. Amendments to its farm and the addition of an on-farm slaughter facility moved the farm up to a 5+ rating.
Harry’s Farmers Market will celebrate the Georgia farm’s accomplishments and strides in elevating animal welfare by hosting a food truck "rodeo," which will each feature Thompson Farms pork products. Yumbi and Nana G’s Chik-N-Waffles will also be popping into the Harry’s parking lot, along with some other food trucks.
The event will take place at Harry's Farmers Market on Saturday, March 17 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Prices at each truck will range from $5-$10 for meals. Harry’s Farmers Market is located at 1180 Upper Hembree Road. Call 770-664-6300 for more details.
