While several new restaurants have been opening in Roswell recently, Sugo in the historic district is closing its doors.

In an official statement sent to Patch, Castellucci Hospitality Group President Federico Castellucci III said:

Ten years ago, our family opened Sugo in Roswell. Over the years we’ve participated in many celebrations with you, and we’ve enjoyed every opportunity we’ve had to serve you. Over the last ten years, our family business has grown, and we’ve added more restaurants in locations all over the city.

The Clock Tower Place staple was sold to Dominick's Italian Restaurant, "after much deliberation," said Castellucci.

Sugo has no current plans to reopen in another Roswell location, but the company will continue to look for new opportunities locally. Sugo sister restaurants Double Zero in Sandy Springs, Sugo Kitchen in Johns Creek and the Iberian Pig in Decatur will remain open and Castellucci hopes Roswell residents will make the drive.

"We hope to continue to celebrate with you and serve you for years to come," he said.

Dominick's new restaurant is set to open at the former Sugo location in Roswell during late April.
