Roswell Resident Opens Menchie's in Alpharetta

Lynda Urrea is a Roswell resident and new owner of Menchie's Windward in Alpharetta.

What is your business and how long have you been doing it?

The name of our business is Menchie’s Windward and we have been open for three months. Menchie’s is a family style self serve frozen yogurt business. Our guests help themselves to an unlimited mix of yogurt and toppings at a unique self-serve store with more than 100 rotating yogurt flavors from cake batter and pomegranate tart to chocolate silk and vanilla snow and more than 70 rotating toppings including fresh fruits, granolas, nuts, an assortment of candies and hot fudges. We offer a monthly toy program and an interactive store experience, which includes chalkboards and upbeat music.

I am social and am very family oriented. In this type of business establishment, it is important to understand the type of service families are seeking when they visit the store. Because I am detailed and in particular, like a clean store, I am able to provide each one of our guests with a unique experience that leaves them smiling and excited to come back again.

How did you end up in Roswell area?

Our family moved to Roswell to pursue a new opportunity.

How do you stay connected to the community?

Staying connected to the community is very important to me. In addition to volunteering for local non-profit organizations, my husband and I have taken on the role of being foster parents. We will also pick out a family in the community who is in need and will support them through various initiatives. Another way we stay connected to the local community through our Menchie’s store is by providing Girl Scout tours in the store. At the end of the visit, each girl receives a Menchie’s patch. As a Girl Scout leader myself, this is an important initiative to me.
