Mac McGee to Install Outdoor Cafe Seating

The city approved the restaurant's requests for a sidewalk cafe.

One of the newest Canton Street restaurants will start seating more patrons outside this summer since the Roswell City Council approved a sidewalk cafe applications for Mac McGee on Monday.

Mac McGee will construct a chain barrier between the existing porch columns to enclose its new cafe space, which will include four to six tables.

Salt Factory, which already has several tables along the sidewalk, asked to extend the outdoor seating area by filling in the tree well and relocating the light post. They would also want to execute a redesign of the sidewalk and ADA ramp along Canton and Webb streets. (See attached picture of how the new sidewalk would appear.) However, council deferred the request until the May 29 meeting so that staff could get a better idea of if or where the tree should be relocated.
