North Fulton Cities Named Best for Georgia Job Seekers

Johns Creek and Alpharetta topped a consumer advocacy group's survey; Roswell and Sandy Springs also rated high.

A consumer advocacy site has given high marks to four cities in North Fulton in a survey of the best places in Georgia for job seekers

NerdWallet has rated Johns Creek the top locale in the state, followed by Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Peachtree City and Roswell.

Sandy Springs and Duluth are in the Top 10 in the NerdWallet survey, which was compiled factoring in unemployment rates, median income, monthly homeowner costs, and population growth.

In addition to having major corporate employers and being a technology hub in the metro Atlanta area, the North Fulton cities were cited for economic development initiatives, such as the Johns Creek Advantage program.

Other factors included job training and career services opportunities, such as DeVry University's career resource center in Alpharetta and the North Fulton Service Center in Sandy Springs.

NerdWallet noted the high levels of education among Roswell's adult population over 25 -- with 40 percent holding bachelor's degrees -- and a 3.4 percent growth in the working-age population from 2009 to 2011.

NerdWallet is a personal finance and credit card comparison site launched in 2010. It has been rated as one of the top "money" websites by CNNMoney.
