Roswell's Bistro VG Celebrates 20 Years

The Sedgwick Restaurant Group's Bistro VG has stayed current, in spite of the high turnover restaurant industry.

In an industry known for its revolving doors - or kitchens, in this case - the Sedgwick Restaurant Group has survived the odds and made a very delicious name for itself. They recently celebrated this fact with the 20th anniversary of their flagship restaurant: , formally known as Van Gogh's.

It's hard to believe, but Roswell's Bistro VG is no longer a baby, or even a teenager, for that matter.

And that says a lot, since the odds of survival for an upscale, speciality, non-chain restaurant in the suburbs were probably pretty low at the outset. Since they opened in 1991, the restaurant has undergone a major transformation from the dark and seductive Van Gogh's to the light and airy Bistro VG.

But despite such a drastic overhaul, Bistro has retained its local - and regional - popularity, perhaps due to an artfully prepared menu paired with the sheer determination and culinary talent of Chris and Michelle Sedgwick. The husband/wife duo are the masterminds behind Bistro VG, Vinny's on Windward, Aspens Signature Steaks and Theo Brother's Bakery (not to mention offshoot side projects of the group, PURE Taqueria and The Union).

Roswell Patch stopped by the anniversary party this past weekend, May 1, to congratulate the Sedgwicks and toast them on continuing to raise the culinary bar for another 20 years - at least.
