Sens. Albers, Beach, Rep. Geisinger Given High Grades by Chamber

The organization said these North Fulton lawmakers voted in line with issues important to the state's business community.

State Sens. John Albers, R-Roswell and Brandon Beach, R-Alpharetta, and Rep. Harry Geisinger, R-Roswell, have received the highest ranking given on the Georgia Chamber’s Legislative Scorecard. The Chamber’s legislative scorecard recognizes legislators that supported strong business initiatives during the 2013 legislative session.

"I would like to thank the Georgia Chamber for acknowledging my commitment to supporting Georgia’s business community," Albers said in a written statement. "Receiving this distinction for the second consecutive year in a row is a great honor and I pledge to continue my efforts to provide positive solutions for Georgia’s long-term fiscal health."

Throughout the 2013 Georgia General Assembly session, legislators addressed a number of issues important to the state’s business community. Legislation enhancing Georgia's competitiveness through education, economic development, business and industry, and judiciary reform were designated as scorecard issues by the Georgia Chamber Government Affairs Council and are included in this year's legislative scorecard.

"What is clear from this year’s scorecard is that lawmakers – both Democrat and Republican – are taking private-sector growth seriously. They realize how important these issues are to the state and to their constituents and that we must take action to encourage investment and job creation," said Georgia Chamber President and CEO Chris Clark. "We are proud that there was such broad-based, bipartisan support for each of the scorecard bills. As a result, we will improve Georgia’s overall competitiveness and reputation as a state that is open for business. We commend Senator Albers for his dedication and commitment to the betterment of our state."
