Small businesses in Alpharetta, John's Creek, Roswell and Cumming offer shoppers discounts.

There are many small businesses in our area that would love to be supported by local people. Before heading out to big box businesses, check your local options for bargains as well. Patch has found you 5 deals this week that are more local than the big mainstream stores and businesses.

1. John's Creek Crossfit

Deal: If you are a teacher, military, law enforcement, firefighter or a student with identification to prove it, you will get 15 percent off of your training.

2. School Place Of Roswell

Deal: Get half off on laminating through Saturday at the store. This is a great for the kid's art projects, important papers and teachers.

Good Through: This is a limited time offer and can be pulled by the owner of the business at any time.

Deal: Teachers get 20 percent off at the School Place of Roswell in Crabapple on Wednesday.

Good Through: This is a one day event.

5. Phish Phood

Deal: Use this coupon to get $11 for $22 at Phish Phood, a local cafe offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best of all, when you purchase the deal, 10 percent will be donated to The Drake House, a Roswell non-profit helping North Fulton mothers and children.
