Taste of Roswell: Laura's Pizza & Subs Restaurant

This Roswell restaurant combines multicultural foods for residents.

You could drive around looking for a place to eat until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Occasionally, Roswell Patch will pick a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out.

Here's this week's choice:

The Food

The restaurant is teaming with tantalizing cuisine for all taste buds. A blend of Italian, eastern European and Mediterranean food, the menu items sizzle with promises of exotic flavor.

Where else can you find Italian on one side of the menu and French fries and buffalo wings on the other? Go for the Gyro Dinner Plate with 4 ounces of gyro meat, feta cheese, tomato, tzatziki sauce, pit olives and pita bread if you’re looking for a taste bud party. If you want a salad that bites back, try the crowd-pleasing Greek Salad complete with mixed greens, pitted olives, provolone, mozzarella, cucumber, feta cheese, pepperoni and ham served with the house dressing. Their home-made Italian dressing is simply out of this world – you’ll be licking your fork after licking your bowl clean! If you’re looking for a taste of home, try the comforting, cheesy Atlanta Pizza. It’s made with fresh whole milk mozzarella, part skim mozzarella, provolone cheese, cheddar cheese and a zesty sauce.

They even offer a lunch special during the week. For $5.50, you get two slices of pizza, a small salad and a drink.

The Features

Laura’s Pizza and Subs invites customers into a cozy, relaxing atmosphere with intimate tables surrounded by mirrors helping light the open room with large windows. Guests are immediately greeted by Laura’s staff at the cashier’s stand facing the door. There is a welcoming air in the room, as if you were invited by the owners into their personal home.

Laura’s also offers two outside picnic tables with umbrellas to enjoy a shaded meal outdoors. Starbucks is next door, so there is after dinner coffee just steps from the restaurant.

The Claim to Fame

Before you write off Laura’s as just another poser in the New York style thin crust pizza category, order a slice. For those craving an authentic New York style slice of pie, Laura’s is a mouth-watering epic win. Large enough for the characteristic New York style fold (the sheer size will make your eyes pop out of your head); this pizza comes compete with delicious hand-tossed crust and a sauce where you can actually taste the individual ingredients. You have your choice of savory toppings and unique toppings for the more adventurous. Try everything from meatballs and jalapenos to broccoli and eggplant atop your soon-to-be favorite slice of pie.
