Many have loved her accommodating voice from a far. Turns out the voice behind Apple’s iPhone 4S, Siri, is Susan Bennett, a Sandy Springs resident.
Bennett’s voice has been around us for years. She revealed to CNN that her voice is the virtual Delta Airlines guide that you hear overhead at the airport, and she was Tillie the Teller for First National Bank.
If you’ve lived in metro Atlanta for a while, Bennett’s kind of like a longtime friend.
In the CNN report, Bennett said she made several recordings from her home in the summer of 2005, through a gig with GM Voices. The Alpharetta company’s client ScanSoft needed a voice for a project, the report said. Bennett never knew how her various recordings would be used, and then in the fall of 2011, friends started inquiring after they iPhone 4S was released.
