Will You Join the Black Friday Fray?

When do you do your holiday shopping?

Every year there is an increased drive to get shoppers into stores. Black Friday now gets an early start on Thanksgiving Thursday, Buy Local campaigns push Small Business Saturday shopping and technology and social media sites encourage Cyber Monday logins. The message is clear - shop early and shop often.

So what is your shopping style for the holidays? Will you be shopping off your Thanksgiving meal on Thursday or Friday, supporting the small businesses in your area on Saturday or is the computer your preferred shopping mall on Cyber Monday? There are, of course, the traditional procrastinators, too. Are you one of those shoppers found at the local drug store just before closing time on Christmas Eve?

. This week, let us know how you expect to get your Christmas shopping done this year.

I propose we change the name to "Turkey Sandwich Day", make it mandatory to stay in bed until at least 9:00, close all stores, except for Downtown Canton, and have free Turkey sandwiches on white bread with mayo and regular Sam Adams for all Canton residents!

Councilman Bryan, that sounds almost as "fun" as eliminating the positions of loyal city employees out of revenge for the Mayor. With these games going on, Canton residents will need to drink lots of Sam Adams! Why don't you use the holidays to bury the hatchet and abandon your divisive politics and back door deals?

"divisive" is 5 of 7 people agreeing? John, what universe are you living in???

Divisive is you, Bill Bryan, bringing the five together outside of normal and legal council meetings! Who elected you Mayor? No one. You keep stating that we elected you to watch our tax dollars. That is not the reason we elected you, and your radical, tea party view of "taxes" is not representative of your typical constituent. We elected you to represent OUR interests, not YOUR negative and personal agenda. Like most politicians, you have forgotten those who you have agreed to serve, and the misguided power has gone to your head.
