Club Med Sandpiper All Inclusive Florida Resort

This past weekend I traveled to a resort that I've always wanted and needed to visit.

Yes I finally booked a 3 night stay at the all inclusive Club Med Sandpiper in Port St Lucie, Florida which is about 45 minutes north of West Palm Beach.  Almost immediately after checking in I quickly forgot the age of the resort.  The reception has the feeling of a Caribbean resort.  Though not on the ocean, it is on  the St. Lucie River, but not to worry beach lovers, Jensen beach is about a 20 minute drive from the resort.

The 200 plus acre resort closed in 2010 for a renovation and reopened in December of 2010 with upgrades including new pools and an adults only infinity pool overlooking the St Lucie River (yes this was my favorite place during the day).  I will say that the exterior of the buildings where the rooms are located need to be updated, however the rooms have been updated and once again have the feeling of a Caribbean resort.

I was very impressed with the employees or as they refer to them G.O.’s (gracious organizers).  The G.O.’s are visible throughout the property and interact with everyone, especially the kids.

If you’re active or someone that wants to relax by the pool this is a great getaway and it’s all inclusive.  The food at the Marketplace buffet is better than I've had on a most ships or resorts.  In late 2013 the resort will open a new grill overlooking the marina which will give guests a third dining option.

The resort has over 20 tennis courts, an 8-hole golf course, a 9-hole “pitch and put” course, 4 swimming pools, a full service spa, fitness center, tennis academy and kids club with activities for ages 3 and up. For families with babies they offer  “baby welcome” which provides families with highchairs, cribs, strollers, bottle warmers, bathtubs and more -- baby gear will be waiting in your room when you arrive. The main restaurant has a Baby Corner with baby food and utensils; a Baby Feeding Room is open 24 hours a day, with all the needed gear for preparing meals.

Nights at the resort are typically quiet however, Slice,  a bar and family theater, does have a DJ until 1am nightly and special groups and entertainment from time to time.

Who would I recommend this resort to? Those who love sports and especially families with children, even couples who enjoy tennis, golf, relaxing by the pool or anyone looking for a long weekend getaway.  Who would I not recommend this resort to? Those who are on a honeymoon unless they want spend most of their time playing tennis and or golfing.

Overall I rate this resort at a 3 ½ star resort and can’t wait until my next trip to Club Med Sandpiper.  For questions about the resort you can email me at danny@cruisenationwide.com or call 770-729-1881 ext 13.  Feel free to view my pictures on facebook https://www.facebook.com/danny.cruises
