Canton Street's Indigo Restaurant Sustains Fire Damage

No one was hurt in the structural fire at 1170 Canton Street, Saturday morning.

The put out quite a big fire at in Roswell on Saturday morning.

The building sustained moderate damage from fire, smoke and water," said Roswell Fire Chief Ricky Spencer.

Crews were called to the restaurant after the fire was called in by a retired firefighter, who noticed smoke coming from the building as he was on his way to breakfast, Spencer told Roswell Patch.

As they worked, the city conducted a partial shutdown of Canton Street near the restaurant, located at 1170 Canton Street.

"The firefighting crews did an excellent job on extinguishing the fire and keeping the fire from reaching the business adjoining the restaurant," said Spencer.

According to Indigo's Facebook page, the kitchen and back dining room suffered significant damage.

Spencer said that the fire is still under investigation and there were no injuries to the restaurant staff or firefighters.

"We will be closed until further notice but we are working diligently to re-open as soon as possible," said the Facebook post.
