City Begins Design on Holcomb Bridge Road Exit Early Off-Ramp

Parsons Brinckerhoff was contracted by the city for $476,919 to design the early-off ramp.

The new Ga 400 off ramp at Holcomb Bridge Road will be one-of-a-kind in its forked design - sending eastbound traffic either to the current Holcomb Bridge Road intersection or allowing them to get off early onto Market Boulevard, according to a report by the Revue & News.

Parsons Brinckerhoff was contracted by the city for $476,919 to design the early-off ramp, which is estimated to take around two years. Once the design phase is complete, the project will cost $3 million to actually construct.

Because of the $14 million bond approved by Roswell voters last November, the early off-ramp is just one of the projects set to begin on the Holcomb Bridge Road exit.Other Holcomb Bridge Road exit projects - funded via both the bond and Georgia Department of Transportation - include a westbound through-lane, aesthetic improvements, improvements to the northbound ramp intersection, the southbound off-ramp, an extended turn lane at Warsaw Road and a minor facelift for the southbound on-ramp. Work on several projects could begin as soon as summer 2014.
