Man Struck, Killed; Miss USA at Perimeter Saturday

A 33-year-old man was struck by a car and killed on the Loop near Highway 316 Thursday night, according to an email release from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office and a post on the office's Facebook Page. Officials responded to the call about 11:18 p.m.

"The person killed had stopped to assist the driver of another vehicle that had broken down in the travel lane," the Georgia State Patrol said in an email..

Mayor Reed to Seek Second Term - Midtown Patch

Just in time for the shopping season. Von Maur, the upscale department store anchor that's been under construction at Perimeter Mall for a long time will open Saturday with a bunch of special treats and events for its grand opening.
