UPDATE: Man in Custody for North Point Mall Bomb Threat

The mall was evacuated after a man called in a bomb threat shortly before 10 a.m. Police expect it to re-open around 2 p.m.

A man has been taken into custody in relation to the North Point Mall bomb threat that forced authorities to evacuate the mall this morning.

Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Spokesperson George Gordon confirmed the man was taken into custody about 15 minutes ago.

Gordon noted the man is currently being interviewed by investigators and the mall should re-open very shortly.

A mall worker directing traffic told Patch they haven't heard much beyond the initial bomb threat yet. They've locked even the workers out of the building now.

A Georgia Bureau of Investigation bomb disposal vehicle arrived to the mall just after 11 a.m.

Alpharetta's North Point Mall has been evacuated due to a bomb threat, according to 11 Alive. 

According to the news station, the mall was evacuated after a man called in the bomb threat shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.
