Pike Adds New Berry Plants to Stock

Spring is the perfect time to play in the dirt and the prime gardening season is just around the corner!

In addition to the usual supply of blooming and stunning plants, Pike Nurseries is introducing four new vibrant – and delicious – plant varieties this spring, including Calliope™ Geraniums, Peach Sorbet™ Blueberries, Jelly Bean™ Blueberries and Raspberry Shortcake™ Raspberries.

The Calliope Geraniums are a southern favorite that combine the best features of ivy and zonal geraniums. Pike Nurseries will offer two colors, Lavender Rose and Hot Pink. Calliope Geraniums are known for being easy to grow for any gardener and are extremely drought tolerant. Their vibrant blossoms provide a season-long display of color that attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. They are perfect for filling in baskets, mixing in large container combinations and showcasing in garden beds.

Gardeners with a sweet tooth can satisfy their cravings with a variety of new, fresh berry plants now offered by Pike Nurseries as well. ‘Peach Sorbet’ Blueberries provide sweet, healthy berries while also boasting year-round color and texture in the landscape. The plant gets its name from its glossy leaves that range in color from peachy pink and orange to emerald green and rich eggplant purple, depending on the season. ‘Peach Sorbet’ Blueberries require full sun and are best used as small hedges in the landscape or in containers on the patio.

Homeowners can also experience the taste of homemade blueberry jelly without any effort with the large, super sweet ‘Jelly Bean’ Blueberries. This exciting new, cold-hardy blueberry offers elegant, rich green foliage and features radiant red leaf edges along the sides and tips of its elongated leaves in the summer. Its exceptional dwarf form makes the ‘Jelly Bean’ Blueberry ideal for hedges or patio containers.

Another new and exceptionally beautiful variety that is now offered at Pike Nurseries is the ‘Raspberry Shortcake’ Raspberry.
