Police ID Boston Bombing Suspect, Conduct Manhunt
Several neighborhoods have been on lockdown through the night as police have chased and killed one of the two suspects. They were still searching for the second suspect as of early Friday morning.
While the rest of the the East Coast slept, Boston police and other law enforcement began an active manhunt for two men suspected to be the Boston Marathon bombers after they robbed a 7-11, fatally shot an MIT campus officer and carjacked a vehicle.
A shootout between police and the two suspects ensued into early Friday morning, with one suspect pronounced dead at a hospital and the other still at large. The Associated Press has reported the surviving Boston bomb suspect is identified as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge.
