Police ID Slain Mayback Driver as Rapper; Soldier Convicted of Attempted Espionage

The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office said the man shot multiple times last week on I-20 West near the Glenwood Avenue exit is 42-year-old James D. Lewiel.

As East Atlanta Patch first reported, the victim, whose stage name was OG Double Dee, was part of a well known hip-hop team named Freebandz. The rap artist, Future, is the most famous artist from the team and is currently in radio rotation. East Atlanta Patch has more on this story.

Kennesaw Woman Indicted on Theft Charges - Kennesaw Patch

Two women have been indicted on charges of taking tens of thousands of dollars from their employers, and one of them is from Kennesaw.

The cases of 55-year-old Annette Evans of Kennesaw and 48-year-old Patty Holmes of Mableton are not related, Kim Isaza, the spokeswoman for Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds, said this afternoon. Visit Kennesaw Patch for more on this story. 

Three Suspects Plead Not Guilty To Killing Eldery Man in Home - Athens Patch

Last November, 76-year-old Edward Davidson was shot and killed in his Jefferson River Road home one night. His wife and he had heard a noise and he had gone to investigate.

Two adults and a teenager were arrested as suspects in the killing. They are Anthony Jermaine Fuller, 17; Justin Oneal Baughns, 22; and, Dwayne Tavares Myers, 30, a convicted felon. The trio face numerous charges, including malice and felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Former Ft. Stewart Soldier Convicted of Attempted Espionage - Ft. Stewart Patch

A former Fort Stewart soldier has been convicted of attempted espionage, according to The Coastal Source.

Spc. William Colton Millay pleaded guilty to the charge last month. He was sentenced Monday to 16 years in prison and a dishonorable discharge, according to the report. Millay, an Owensboro, Ky., native, is currently based in Alaska. Ft. Stewart Patch has more on this story. 

- Douglasville Patch

Three men have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery after a bar fight that put a man in a chemically induced coma to be treated for his head injuries, according to a report from the Villa Rica Police Department.

Chase Mayfield, 21 of Villa Rica, suffered a severe head injury, during a fight on April 12 at Stix Bar & Grill and remains in a coma. lvin Eugene Norris, 36 of Villa Rica; Gregory George Rainwater, 34 of Winston; and Michael Ray Baldwin, 37 of Dallas have all been charged with aggravated assault and battery and are being held at the Carroll County Jail.
