Oscar Winner Reese Witherspoon Arrested in Buckhead - Buckhead Patch

Reese Witherspoon, the Academy Award-winning actress, was arrested in Buckhead on a charge of disorderly conduct just after midnight Friday, but was posing on the red carpet on Sunday night at the premiere of her new film "Mud."

A Georgia State Trooper stopped the 2013 Ford Fusion near Peachtree Road and Peachtree Battle Avenue because it was not staying in its lane. The car was being driven by Witherspoon's husband, James Toth. .

Fire Department Controls Recycling Plant Fire Near Georgia Tech's Campus - Midtown Patch

Materials within a recycling plant at 830 Jefferson Street NW, caught on fire in the early Monday morning hours.Β  Fire investigators were able to get the fire under control rather quickly, and are now focusing on putting out hotspots.

The recycling plant is located just behind Northside Drive and Tech Parkway, and some local traffic in the area was rerouted while fire crews were on the scene.

According to 11Alive.com, "no injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire has not been determined.".

Shooting/Robbery Suspect Spotted at Walmart - Sandy Springs Patch

Sandy Springs Police are investigating three robberies that may be the work of one person over a four-day period. Victims in the three incidents described the suspect as a black male, six-feet-tall with a medium to dark complexion. Police believe that they are connected. The locations are all within a short time frame and concentrated area. .

The suspect in a home invasion is dead after being shot by police in the Norcross area.

According to Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter, the suspect forced entry into a home at Woodland Ridge Apartments at 301 Tree Trail Pkwy. in unincorporated Norcross Monday morning (April 22).

Two kids were home alone, but they were able to make it out of the apartment safely and contact a neighbor who called police, according to Ritter. .
