Roswell Appreciates 911 Call Center
The city will join in the National Emergency Dispatchers Week, April 14-20.
Roswell's 911 Center will celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunications Week next week as part of an organization which can mean the difference between life and death for local residents.
The week, also known as National Emergency Dispatchers Week, is sponsored by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International between April 14-20. It helps honors housands of men and women across the nation who dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, while rendering life-saving assistance to people who call 911, according to information released by the Roswell Police Department.
Roswell Mayor Jere Wood recognized the special week and honored 911 staff by releasing an official proclamation at the Roswell City Council meeting on March 25 to honor the men and women in our area for the work that they do every day to protect residents within the city of Roswell.

According to the city, when someone calls 911 the dispatcher becomes a lifeline to safety and help.
"Our city’s dispatchers are highly trained professionals that have gone through extensive hours of training," states an RPD press release. "We are the first 911 Center in the state of Georgia to become triple certified in our emergency dispatch protocols for police, fire and medical."
