Roswell is Smarter Than Most of the United States

As far as the rest of the country goes, Roswell is at the top in college education.

Compared to the rest of the United States, Roswell residents are the smart kids in the class when it comes to education. 

The town ranked higher than the rest of the United States in education, according to data reported by Neighborhood Scouts.

According to the study, 52.94 percent of adults in Roswell hold at least a bachelor's degree. The United States' average is 21.84 percent.

In Roswell, 88.95 percent of the workforce is employed in white-collar jobs, which is well-above the national average. 

Roswell also has 95 percent of its people working in math and computers, which ranks at the top.

Here's the job breakdown:

Office and administrative support: 9.61 percent

Sales: 17.64 percent

Management occupations: 16.79 percent

About 9.64 percent of workers in Roswell telecommute to their jobs. Though the percentage may seem low, it ranks among the highest in the country.

The 2010 per capita income, $41,216, is wealthy compared to the rest of Georgia and the national average. For a family of four, the annual income was $164,864. 

The report also says Roswell is home to both the very wealthy and the very poor. About seven percent of the population lives below the poverty line, according to local developer Dave Schmit at a recent Roswell NEXT Town Hall. The city is also very ethnically-diverse, with 19.68 percent of people born outside of the U.S.
