Roswell Seniors Urged to be on Alert

Officials are cautioning Roswell seniors against falling for a scam involving stimulus money.

Fulton County officials are warning seniors about an alleged scam putting them at risk for identity theft.

County officials received reports of individuals offering senior citizens $500 in stimulus money in exchange for their personal information, including their Social Security number and date of birth. The individuals running the alleged program contacted the county and asked to do a presentation at Helene S. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility in Atlanta, but were turned down.

"We are not aware of any incidents in North Fulton at this time," said county spokeswoman, Alicia Phillips.
