Editor's Note: While the event takes place at Roswell City Hall, it is not sponsored by the city, but by Raise His Praise Worship Center.

Roswell will mark the National Day of Prayer this Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at City Hall, 38 Hill St.

National Day of Prayer is an annual service held on the first Thursday of May. The occasion invites all faiths to participate, and was created in 1952 by a U.S. Congress joint resolution signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
