Roswell Woman Out of Jail for Death of Girl

An elderly woman who struck and killed a little girl with her car in 2009 is out of jail now after serving 76 days.

The 83-year-old Roswell woman who struck and killed a 5-year-old little girl on Davis Road in December 2009 is out of state prison after serving 76 days of a three year sentence, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Edith Main Anderson was sentenced to three years for the death of Karla Campos - a student at Β - in January after she entered a guilty plea so the family would not have to go through a trial. According to the AJC, Anderson went into a "panic mode" that led to the horrifying tragedy. In an attempt not to hit Campos' school bus, which was stopped to let children off, Anderson swerved and struck the little girl, who died en-routeΒ to the hospital.
